Here is a list of guidelines regarding the Essential Business Affiliate Programme:
Websites approved for use in the Essential Business Affiliate Programme
Most business support, business education, micro and small business-related blogs and websites qualify to participate in the Affiliate Programme. However, we reserve the right to refuse or revoke membership at any time if we determine that your website contains objectionable or non-related material. Your site must also be fully functional with original content. Spam or scraper sites will not be approved. If your site is still in its development stage, please apply after it’s completed.
Discount and deal-type websites
Whilst certain Groupon and Voucher Code discounts may be in force from time to time, we are not offering general affiliate discount codes at this time. Public-facing discounts on sites such as Groupon are offered only for certain periods of time and we take great care not to detract from our affiliates’ ability to earn commission on Essential Business product sales.
Using the Essential Business name in URLs, ads or promotions
While we encourage you to use our brand in your promotions on your site, prior consent is required by Essential Business Publications Ltd for use of the term Essential Business in Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or other social networking site URLs.
Promoting affiliate links on Twitter with the hashtag #EssentialBusiness
While we encourage our affiliates to engage and participate in Essential Business-related discussions using the Twitter hashtag #EssentialBusiness, it is prohibited to use spam links that include an obscured affiliate link.
Using affiliate links on Pinterest
While we encourage you to pin our content to your boards, undisclosed affiliate links on Essential Business-related Pinterest pins are strictly prohibited.
Buying products using your own affiliate link
As a general rule, affiliates are not eligible for commissions on purchases made through your own affiliate link. However, we recognise there may be situations where your business makes sales in such a way that this process is preferable. Since we monitor transactions for self-sales, we ask that you get in touch with us before you begin using your own links for sales so we can set up an arrangement that meets your processing needs.
Use of the Essential Business/Essential Business Publications names in a domain name
Any affiliate who intends to market either the Essential Business or Essential Business Publications name in a top-level domain must obtain written consent from Essential Business Publications Ltd prior to execution. Each marketing plan is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Violation of the affiliate programme
If you have a concern that you may be violating any of our guidelines, please contact us. Chances are, we can find a way to work through this without any issue. That said, affiliates found to be in violation of these Affiliate Programme Guidelines and the Affiliate Agreement will forfeit commissions relating to either the specific transaction in violation or all commissions assigned. Excessive violations will result in termination of the violating party’s Affiliate account. We’d really prefer not to do that, so please get in touch with us if you have any questions whatsoever. We’re happy to help however we can.
